The D3P Academy

The D3P Academy is a year-long basketball development program designed to support the long-term growth of youth athletes through intentional training, strong fundamentals, and basketball intelligence. Grounded in the mission of D3P Sports & Community, the Academy is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and adaptable environment where athletes from diverse backgrounds can develop confidence, character, and lifelong skills through sport. The D3P Academy was created to address a growing gap in youth basketball development, where early over-competition often leads to poor habits, burnout, and limited understanding of the game. In alignment with D3P’s mission to prioritize development, education, and access, the Academy follows a development-first model that emphasizes skill mastery, decision-making, and basketball IQ before increasing competitive demands. The program operates on a 12-month, structured curriculum divided into four progressive phases: foundational individual development, team concepts and controlled scrimmages, competitive evaluation, and refinement for consistency. This intentional approach ensures athletes develop proper habits, apply skills in game-like settings, and reinforce growth over time. Led by experienced coaches and performance trainers, the D3P Academy provides a disciplined and supportive environment rooted in D3P’s core values of diversity, dedication, discipline, and perseverance. Beyond athletic development, the Academy focuses on building transferable life skills such as accountability, resilience, confidence, and teamwork. By investing in long-term athlete development, the D3P Academy aims to have a positive impact on participants, their families, and the broader community.
